I've been on the pill now for 1-2 years & I never took my pills at the exact same time I just took them at night time. Then I lost my virginity on January 1st & I we didn't use a condom and he didn't come. That night I started bleeding & I've been spotting ever since. I'm supposed to get my period later this week but I'm still spotting & haven't had a period in like 2 or 3 months because I've been skipping my placebo pills. Please help
Hi, I have gone through your question and understand your concerns. Oral contraceptive pills have decreased efficacy if they are not taken at the same time of the day. Unprotected Intercourse can lead to pregnancy, however chance is low as you are on pills. The spotting can be due to hormonal disturbances due to continously taking pills without having a break in between, it can also be due to local lesions in cervix and vagina, or due to pregnancy. I would suggest you to get a urine pregnancy test done and if negative, then do consult an OBGYN specialist to get proper examination, investigation and treatment accordingly. Hope you found the answer helpful. Wishing you good health Dr Neeraj Kumar
