What Causes Vaginal Bleeding After Menopause?
Hi, I ve just taken a 500mg dose of Amoxicillin for a chest infection. I am 53 years old, and for the first time in four years of postmenopause I have a bleed. Its rather odd as I am not sexually active at present. However, I was wondering if the hefty dose of antibiotics could have caused this?

Yes, amoxicillin 500 mg is likely to cause vaginal bleeding.
You should consult your treating doctor for stopping the drug & replacement by another antibiotic.
I=Vaginal bleeding is not supposed to be normal after 4 years of menopause. So, though you have history of taking high dose amoxicillin, I would advise for a gynecological ckeck up along with intravaginal USG of genitals to exclude any other element causing it.
