hi my name is carol i am 51yrs of age i have had three seven days period in the month of june my doctor has put me on primolut n one tablet three times a day for two week after finishing the tablet four days after i start bleeding again. what should i do
Primolut-N is a synthetic form of progestin and has a similar action to the female hormone, progesterone. It is used to treat menstrual disorders and abnormal vaginal bleeding in women caused due to hormonal imbalances.
It is normal to have a breakthrough bleeding after taking this medication and stopping. Bleeding would happen between 3 to 7 days after stopping the medication. Kindly wait for the next cycle to come and if there are any irregularities noted, kindly consult obstetrician for evaluation and management.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
