What Causes Vaginal Bleeding And Abdominal Cramps After Menopause?

I am a healthy 68 year old woman who suddenly began heavy bleeding from vagina a half hour ago. I have cramping as I use to when I menstruated which I have not done in 18 years. I certainly know how to staunch the bleeding with products but I wondered what this means.

Hello and thank you for choosing HCM.
As your question, I would recommend to go to a specialist in gynecology with some urgency: vaginal bleeding are not normale after menopause.
You would need to have an inspection and a sonogram to search the cause of the bleeding. The bleeding could be due to hyperplasia of endometrium or endometrial or vaginal polypus.
I hope I answered completely to your question.
Best regards,
Dr.ssa Naibo E.
