Hello,
Thank you for your query.
Retained tissue need not always be associated with a positive test. The tests are usually negative.
I recommend :
-an
OBGYN consult
-an ultrasound pelvis (Trans vaginal) to check for any retained tissue.
-a d&c (dilattaoand curettage) if required.
-blood tests (
complete blood count, ending and clotting Time,
prothrombin time)
Re bleeding could mean retained products. Risk of Infection is present. If you develop abdominal cramping, fever, foul smelling
vaginal discharge, please see your doctor right away to treat a possible septic
miscarriage which can become life threatening.
If no evidence of Infection, you may be given the option of expectant management (wait and watch). Please discuss with your doctor as soon as possible.
Hope this helps.
Please let me know if you need anything else.
Wish you good health
