What Causes Vaginal Bleeding, Vomiting And Stomach Pain After Taking Emergency Contraceptive Pill?

Hi im a female age 18, height is 5'4", weight is 110Lbs and family has history with high blood pressure. I've taken next choice on the 4th of June and felt sick the next 2days. It then seem to get better but 5 days later on the June 9th i started to bleed again. It came heavy and now im feeling pains in my stomach and feel like throwing up. Also I've been sick the past three days with a cough and stuffed nose. I was wondering is this normal to experience after taking Next Choice? How long should this last?

Hello,

Throwing up can be due to cough and cold. Take steam inhalation and liquid warm food so that you do not hurt your throat. Take adequate water and fluids. You can keep a cough Lozenge in your mouth to stop throat irritation. Take antihistamine at bed time to help control allergic symptoms.

You are suggested to stay at rest and talk less. Bleeding after taking emergency contraceptive pills is due to hormonal imbalance that may continue for some time, it can present with heavy bleeding, scanty bleeding, irregular bleeding or spotting. These are the side effects.

To get relief from stomach pain you can take antispasmodics or PPIs. Take food in time and do not skip meals once you are relieved of abdominal discomfort. Get hypertension treated at the earliest. Take food rich in iron, you can take iron supplements.
