What Causes Vaginal Bleeding While On Mirena IUD?

I have had the Mirena IUD for almost 15 years. I am currently on my 3rd and will need to get a new one in July. I have not had a period or spotting for the last 15 years. My period stopped after I had my first IUD implanted. In the last 2 weeks I have been experiencing sore breasts, cramping, and bleeding. This is not normal for me and has not happened since I started using the Mirena 15 years ago. WHat would cause these symptoms and my bleeding for the last 2 weeks?

OBGYN, Maternal and Fetal Medicine 's  Response
Hi dear,
I have gone through your question and understand the concerns.

The bleeding and spotting you are having is most likely due to Mirena.
However, I will suggest you to consult an OBGYN specialist to get examined internally, and get an ultrasound done to confirm the diagnosis and get further treatment accordingly.

Hope you found the answer helpful.
