What Causes Vaginal Itchiness While On Lopressor?

I have been on lopressor for MVP with regurgitation for the past 4 months... although it has been very helpful, I have been experiencing vaginal type itching ... is that a side effect? I haven t experienced any other side effects or changes and all other tests have been negative

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

I understand your concern.

Lopressor (Metoprolol) is used to treat irregular heart beats associated with regurgitation. It is not causing vaginal itching.

There is another factor causing vaginal itching including yeast infection or parasite infestation. Vaginal swab testing can determine the right diagnosis.

For the moment, I advise to keep good vaginal hygiene and apply clotrimazole vaginally. If not helping, go for vaginal swab testing and get examined by your physician. Diabetes testing advised to rule out possible diabetes.

Wish fast recovery.
