What Causes Vaginal Spotting After Gallbladder Removal?
Hi.....I have had my gallbladder out on Wed. I noticed this am I have vaginal spotting. This is probably not unusual for the stress and the strong pain med I was given. The only issue I have, I have been menopausal no cycle in at least 2 1/2 years. Plus diagnosed pof before that and only had cycles because of hrt. Any ideas? The surgeon sees no connection. Thank you
Hello dear, thanks for posting your query! There is absolutely no way how gall bladder surgery can cause vaginal spotting. But one of the side effects of hormone replacement therapy is irregular and unscheduled bleeding. Even though it may be due to HRT, I suggest you to meet your gynaecologist in order to rule out some important things like cervical bleeding and endometrial hyperplasia ( as you haven't mentioned anything about the type of HRT you are on and how long you have been taking HRT). Although in most probability it may be innocuous, it is important that the cause of vaginal spotting is reasoned out after menopause. Hope this information helps. Take care!
