What Causes Vaginal Spotting While Having Postmenopausal Atrophic Vaginitis?
I am a female, 64 years old, post-menopausal. I have noticed thinning of the vaginal walls. Not active sexually. Normal pelvic exam and PAP smear about 4 months ago. Today noticed small amount of blood when I wiped myself. Not a lot - just a pinkish tinge. No pain or other symptoms.
Spotting in postmenopausal women has to be evaluated thoroughly. Consult a gynaecologist and do a Pap smear and ultrasound scan. You can use estrogen cream for symptomatic relief.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
