What Causes Vertigo Despite A Normal CT Scan Report?

I have vertigo for several months now, in the last several weeks more severe. I have had a CAT scan of my sinus that showed no sinus problems on the left side and slight deviation of my septum on the right side. I went to an ENT Doctor yesterday and had a hearing test that showed no significant problems. He now wants me to go have a test for Chronic Vestibulopathy? From what he said this would actually check my eyesight for balance? YYYY@YYYY

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Vertigo is not a disease in itself its a condition, so you have to check for all the possible causes. Local causes are eustachian tube block, middle ear infection, vestibular neuronitis, acute labrynthitis, BPPV.
Other causes may be stroke, hypotension, anemia, myocardial infarction. For these to rule out your medical history us necessary.
The test you described is to assess any optic defects, optokinetic nystagmus associated with vertigo.

Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
