What Causes Violet Mottled Skin On Thighs And Back?

I have violet mottled skin on my upper thighs, inside and on the back. Also in the folds of my skin at my waist and under my bra and under my breasts. My back has been hurting and also my legs feel heavy. I went to a dermatologist and she is treating me for a patch of hard dry skin on my left calf. I have generally not felt well for several weeks.
