What Causes Visibility Of Dominant Red Veins At The Back Of Throat?
Hello, I was diagnosed with strep throat almost 4 weeks ago. I took five days of antibiotics and that got rid of all of my symptoms. However, I have had strawberry tongue ever since. I also still have red veiny lines and white in the back of my throat and tonsils. Recently, more red veiny lines have been showing up. Should I go back to the doctors?
Hi. Yes you should go back to the ENT Surgeon to get a clinical diagnosis , investigations and prescription based treatment. The red veins and white streaks are suggestive that there s still an active infection in the throat which needs further treatment till it is cured. Also get a throat swab for gram staining and culture sensitivity. You need further antibiotics and anti-inflammatory medicines, liquid diet, to avoid too hot and too cold foods and beverages, Gargles for the throat; multivitamins and probiotics for the strawberry tongue.
