Please advise....my husband had laser surgery for a torn retinea about a month ago. His eye has never gotten any better and now today he is seeing shadows from the top of his eye. Should I take him to the emergency room tonight or should we wait until the drs office opens first thing tomorrow??

Hello
Welcome to Health care magic.

I reviewed your history.
It seems from the history that your husband had laser for retinal tear.
The presence of flashes is common in the post operative period, hence no need to worry. However once indirect ophthalmoscopic examination is required to look for the status of the retinal tear and treatment if required.

Hence I advice you to consult your doctor for examination for confirmation of diagnosis and treatment accordingly.

Hope this is helpful to you.

Do write back to me for further questions.

Thank you
