My Husband who weighs 180 and is abt 5 9'drank some with his friends and then today was very sick. On Tuesday he drank beer and also he had hard liquior then on Wedensday he also had shots of vodka then they had some beers after that, now today he became very sick vomiting has been in bed all day, do u think that he could be dehydrated from drinking for 2 days? Please let me know I am worried.
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted the history about your husband and understood the concerns. Drinking beer followed by Vodka followed by beer again for 2 days can cause lots of gastritis and thus vomiting. This in turn can cause dehydration, change internal health and thus he is laying in bed. I would advise him the following in such a situation: Tell him to take a PPI like Omeprazole, antacids and Domperidone if the vomiting persists. Plenty of oral fluids in any form that suits him. Consult a Doctor if the symptoms do not improve and may need intravenous fluids and electrolytes.
