Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, I have an 18 month old son who recently began to vomit curdled milk after he has his bottle. He seems fine by playing, laughing, eating solids and no problems but once he has the bottle of milk he gets sick. He hasn t had any issues before a couple of days ago and does not have a fever or anything. he did have reflux when he was an infant but outgrew that by the time he was a year old. I did use a different brand of milk last week but I have since gone back to the milk I normally buy and the vomiting has occurred with the normal milk.
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted the history of your 18 month old son having vomiting with milk you normally buy, vomits curdled milk. Not with other brands. This means that there is an intolerance to something in the milk that you buy normally that the other brands do not have. I would advise you the following in such a situation: Check the stool for lactose intolerance. Never give the milk and milk products that do not suit your son. Prevention is better than cure as he can develop even more problems like loose stool, mal-absorption, dislike for certain foods and beverages and may create problems for growth. Consult your Pediatrician for further clinical evaluation, and solutions.
