Hi,
Venlafaxine is a newer anti-depressant molecule which is known to cause some gastric side effects such as nausea and vomiting. But it is also knownto cause fluctuations in blood pressure especially in high doses. I suppose 75 mg is a loading dose for a child of 11 years. It should not be life threatening but in any case, it is better to get his blood pressure monitored at a local clinic to be on safer side, and in future be careful about not mixing his treatment regimen with similar looking drugs. Thank you. PLease feel free to ask for further queries.
