Hi, I am a 64 years old female, weight is 210 pounds. I have episodes of occasionally vomiting during a bowel movement-doesn’t happen every time. It comes on all of a sudden and then I vomit and feel okay once the bowel movement is done. Like a bad storm passing through my bowel. What is causing this. Thank you.

What Causes Vomiting During Defecation?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice. Vomiting during defecation suggest back pressure over the small intestine from loaded colon. Regular bowel training, bulk laxative, control of body weight, and exercises will solve majority of the problems. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
