What Causes Vomiting In A Child After Taking Feed?
i have a 7 month old baby i started feeding him ceralac rice for few days and now with wheat and fruits in between i give him apples , bananas to eat i feed him 2 times daily, but he vomits most of the time why is it so ? and also how much quantity of ceralac or any other solids do i give him ?
Hi, Thank you for asking question on health care magic. 7 months is the right time for introducing cerelac as well as other weaning foods. But you should not feed many things at a time. Introduce one food continuously for a week to 10 days, then feed another . Identify the feed the baby likes and give in increased volume. Do not force feed the baby I-2 level measures of cerelac in 30 -60 ml of water once daily, then slowly increase the frequency as well as quantity. Hope this answer will serve your purpose Please feel free to ask any more queries if required Take care Dr.M.V.Subrahmanyam MD;DCH Associate professor of pediatrics
HI...If the kid is active and gaining weight appropriately then you need not worry at all. This vomiting is because of excess food he might be receiving, But, if the infant is underweight and not growing well, he may be having severe form of GER (gastroesophageal reflux). If this is so then your son will need - 1. Antireflux therapy - Proton pump inhibitors + antiemetics 2. Always make her lie down in a propped up position - as in the care seat. He should not be sleeping completely flatly. 3. Avoid heavy feeding and feeding more times and in small aliquots. Regards - Dr. Sumanth
