What Causes Vomiting Of Brown Chunk?

I am 19 5'9 and 140 lbs. No medical history. I was very ill last night and started throwing up every 20-30 minutes. I did not have a fever. After a few hours I noticed a grey or brown chunk in my vomit. I don't think it was food because I had not eaten or had anything to drink for some time. What could this mean?

I have reviewed your query and here is my advice. Probably gastric erosion may cause bleeding in stomach and clot formation, and due to acidity it may change to dark brown colour. It may be Mallory Weiss syndrome, severe retching may cause mucosal tear and vomiting.

Other possibilities like iron or bismuth tablet may cause dark colour vomiting.
If you are vomiting continuously with dark colour blood please consult your doctor. He will examine and treat you accordingly.
