What Causes Vomiting With A History Of Bipolar Disorder?

Hi: I have been having vomitting issues since I was a child. About every three weeks, I have a sudden rise in temperature, excessive sweating and feeling like I am ice cold from the sweating, then I vomit and am unable to rise for several hours. Sometimes there is headache as well. I am 51, slim build, and I do not eat well (just have no interest in food). Recently diagnosed with bi-polar 2 disorder and anxiety. Medication (lithium, ciprolex) control the symptoms well. But as a therapist, this problem threatens my work (it's happened even in session!!) Doctor has been silent about it for my whole life (just literally shrugs his shoulders). Is this normal, common, and what can I do to stop it??

Dear
Welcome to HCM
We understand your concerns

I went through your details. you told you are a therapist. What is the specialty you deal with? Is it related with psychology? In that case you should know how anxiety is related with bi-polar disorder. You should also know how anxiety can cause nausea and vomiting. If not it is true to a large extent. Such symptoms are possible for anxiety disorder patients. That is the reason why your psychiatrist shrugs his shoulder. Understand and ignore and be happy.
