Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
i have a watery diarrhea for 3 days now. my stool exam shows negative bacteria and parasites, moderate globules. on the first day felt bloated every after i eat. on the second day the diarrhea appears. i took ercefuryl (nifuroxazide) 3 capsules but no improvement. what is the the probable diagnosis for this. what is the best treatment. your response is highly appreciated. thank you.
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted your history of watery diarrhea and stomach bloating started 3 days ago, nifuroxazide 3 caps did not help and the stool test is negative for bacteria and parasites. Hence this must be an allergy to something that you ate or drank or can be due to viral gastroenteritis. I would suggest you the following: Take activated charcoal, loperamide if required, probiotics, curd and banana and the problem may be under control. Repeat the tests for stool and have blood sugar and thyroid function tests. Take plenty of oral fluids as required. Go to your Doctor for clinical evaluation and vitals so that any further investigations or treatment as required can be instituted.
