Sir, my 9 month old baby is suffering from watery stool discharge. It was three times yesterday. My doctor prescribed Zanocin Syrup, 5ml twice a day; Zedott powder twice with water, Enterogermina Vial - Once a day, Peditral - One pack or two per day. still my baby is getting loose motion, 5 times today starting from 3 pm to 12'o clock midnight. what should i do?
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted the history about your 9 month baby and understood your concerns. Since your Doctor has already prescribed the medication of choice in diarrhea in a 9 month old baby that is Zanocin syrup, Zedott powder, Enterogermina and Peditral I would suggest you the following in such a situation where there is not much of a control in loose stools. Give the medications properly as advised so that your baby gets proper medication for control of infection. The possible causes of persistent diarrhea may be as follows: Antibiotics may take a few days to act. Please see that the baby is not dehydrated and if necessary get him admitted for intravenous fluids and antibiotics and under observation of nurses and Doctors.
