What Causes Watery Stools With Green Color Mucous?

Hi,
My Daughter is almost three months now and she had a bout of loose motions last week. We got a routine stool examination done before starting the medicine and the result showed 7-8 pus cells. Basis this report her doctor prescribed the following medicines - Taxim O syrup along with enterogermina and Zince Syrup (Z & D).
While the diarrhea is under control, she's been passing green stool for the last couple of days (4-5 times a day) and is also passing atleast one very watery, frothy loose stool every day. I have noticed mucous in her stool and have twice noticed a small speck of blood also in the last three days. Her antibiotic course comes to an end today.
She is exclusively breastfed and weighs roughly 5 Kgs. Please advise if the treatment is on the right track or if we need to get any more tests done.

Thanks for your time.

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi dear
welcome to the HCM
In my experience I not happy with the taxim o for the stomach infection. It may be sensitive for the bacteria but many times taxim o itself causes some loose stools.
Stools are blood mixed even after completing a course of taxim o It means some other infection has occurred simultaneously or taxim o was not effective.
Ofloxacin can be tried. If the culture is pointing toward the amikacin then it will be the best drug given for such infection. But amikacin can only be given by injection not by oral route.
Hope the query is answered.
Thanks
