My daughter of 15 was diagnosed last year 2010 with glandfever. Bloodtest results said that she has got it from farmanimals? The doctor has put her on a course of antibiotics. But it didnt seem to get better. She is comlaining the whole time of feeling tired and i can see that this is effecting her schoolwork as well. I took her to another doctor about 2-3 weeks ago, she also diagnose the glandfever and gave her another course of antibiotics. However this morning she was complaining of how tired she feels and shown me that the glands underneath her rightear are now also swollen and sore. Should i be worried? What must i do?
Noted the history about your 15 years old daughter supposedly suffering from gland fever and undertook treatment with different antibiotics, the problem persists. Since you have not mentioned about the names of antibiotic and investigations I would advise you the following: - Consult a Doctor at Communicable disease centre and zoonotic disease for special opinion. - Get the detailed investigations done: - Blood culture and sensitivity. - Ultrasound of the glands. - FNAC that is fine needle biopsy. All these will give a probable diagnosis and thus allow for proper treatment.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
