Hi,I am Dr. Andrew Rynne (Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My grandma has weeping edema in right arm and has been in ICU for month.. What is the usual cause of weeping? She has 25% kidney function and has congestive heart failure. She has had pulminary adema since been in care and just got over pneumonia.
Reduced kidney functions mean the kidneys are not able to propel the proteins out of them and into the circulation, thereby causing them to be excreted with urine. And congestive cardiac failure makes the heart fail to pump enough blood out of the heart, thereby having blood pooled in the extremities and resulting in edema.
