I am 43 years old and had a hysterectomy due to uterine cancer. I received chemo and brachytherapy. I have gained twenty pounds since my hysterectomy three years ago. Excess with comes on so easily and seems very difficult to lose. Is this common with other women? Any advice? Thank you.
In hysterectomy, the ovaries are removed, so body does not produce oestrogen and progestogen hormones. Lack of these hormones increases the level of male hormones.men gain weight more around tummy. Because of male hormones , women tend to gain weight after hysterectomy. Weight loss can be achieved by healthy weight and regular exercise.Hope i have answered your question.
