iam gaining weight. I used to weigh about 52 kgs 3 years back . After being diagnosed as hypothyroidism, i have gained weight. now iam 70 kg. I am taking thyronorm 50 and my tsh is normal now. please advice me how to lose my weight. The upper abdomen swells up like a balloon. kindly help me. if feel very uncomfortable with my swelled up abdomen(with gas).
Your problem seems to be unrelated to hypothyroidism. As far as weight loss is concerned, lifestyle interventions in the form of diet control and exercise will help. It needs to be determined, by proper history and examination whether you need drugs for weight control or not. For gaseous distension, again you might need dietary modifications, like avoidance of spicy and oily foods. If these don't help, you should see a gastroenterologist.
