Hi,I am Neethu Vipin (Dietitian & Nutritionist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am a 70 year old male and have always had thin cankles that allowed me to place my grip around them less about 1 1/2 - 2 inches. As of about two months ago I have noticed a slight weight gain (4-5 lbs), I weigh 165 on a good day, and figure some of the weight is concentrated around my upper ankles, which now don t allow the placement of my grip as before. I take Losartin, allopurinol, and an assortment of OTC supplements. I don t feel any differently, just wonder if this change is related to aging or something to be concerned about
Swelling around ankles is due to side effect of anti-hypertensive medication that you are taking. Consult your treating physician for this and inform him about the supplements that you are taking alongwith the medications.
