What Causes Weight Gain, Fatigue And Sleepiness After Thyroidectomy?
hi, i had a total thyroidectomy in july and now take 11 x 100mg tablets a week, My TSH level is normal but I am unsure what the T4 and T3 came in at last week. I currently feel awful and getting worse. Following the op I went through 3 or 4 weeks where I felt better than I had for years until my levels became very hypo and my dose was increased. I have gained a huge amount of weight, feel very fatigued and weepy, I am sleeping all night but waking like a train has hit me. I have a docktors appt tomorrow and wondered what I should request to happen next as I cannot cope with feeling like this. Any suggestions would be most appreciated. Thanks
Somebody who is taking approximately 125 mcg levothyroxine daily is suppose to become euthyroid by now. Make sure you take it in empty stomach. And should give a gap of at least half an hour before you take other fluids, food or any tablets especially calcium tablets and antacids..
