What Causes Weight Gain While On Acetaminophen And Lunesta?

I m recovering from knee replacement surgery (week 13) and began exercising and strength rebuilding about 4 weeks ago. Taking acetaminophen for pain and occasionally 5 mg of oxycodone. I also take Lunesta about every other night to aid sleep. Bottom line, since restarting exercise and strength training I have gained 7 pounds in 4 weeks. Pre surgery weight was 172 lbs. Before recommencing exercise regimen weight was 173. 59 yrs old, 5 8 . Could the gain be a side affect of the medications or a rebuilding of atrophied muscle. If the later, when will the regain of muscle start to eliminate the wight gain?

Hello,
Medicines listed by you don't result in any weight gain.
Your weight gain could be due to dietary excesses.
Keep doing exercises and observe proper dietary control by avoiding fatty foods, sweets and junk foods.
In addition get tested for hypothyroidism because underactive thyroid can result in weight gain.
Thanks
