Hello doctor, i am having hair fall problem and i consulted a dermatologist who suggested me to use xtraglo capsols. I used them for 1 month. Then all of suddden my weight has been increased by 4kg in a month and i got more pimples on on my face. Then i consulted the same doctor and he said it s looking like hormonal imbalance. But he asked me to continue the same medicine.I just want to ask you is that happend because of the side effects of xtraglo? Should i stop using them ?
Hi & Welcome. It could be due to a hormonal disorder like hypothyroidism. Xtraglo is a nutritional supplement which contains Biotin which is a water soluble vitamin B complex vitamin, Methionine, Cysteine and is often recommended for improving hair growth. This tablet is harmless and its use is not associated with weight gain. The weight gain seems to be due some underlying hormonal disorder like hypothyroidism since hair loss is can also occur in this condition. Once the thyroid hormones come to baseline, the hair starts to grow again. I therefore advise you to undertake certain lab tests such as CBC, ESR, thyroid hormones, Vitamin D levels, etc. for the effective treatment of hair loss. Hope this will help you.
