What Causes Welts In The Inner Thighs?

My daughter has a large 2-3 in diameter welt on her inner thigh. It is red and hot to the touch. It even feels a little hard? I am guessing it is a bite of some sort. I have drawn a line around it to make sure it doesn t get any larger....but what could have caused this and what can I do for her. It itches also.

Hi.
As per your case history you are having furuncles on inner thigh.
My treatment advice is -
1. Don't squeeze the lesions as it may worsen the condition.
2. Apply a mild antibiotic cream like fusiderm cream twice daily on it.
3. Take a NSAID like ibuprofen for pain and levocetrizine for itching.
4. Other treatment options are oral antibiotics like levofloxacin, cefadroxil and azithromycin taken only after consulting a dermatologist.
