What Causes Welts On Thighs And Buttocks After Taking Hydrocodone?
I just got a refill of generic hydrocodone (norco) for lower right back pain. I took the required dose, but within 2 hours I had some serious welts on my upper thighs & buttocks area; like clots! I have taken this for years & not sure why this is happening now?Previously I had the yellow pills; this time I received the generic #d M367 white oblong 10/325. What s happening or is it another issue?Thank you.Yes I know the obvious answer of stop taking it, but I have never had this problem with this medication prior, thus my question/concern?!
Different manufacturing companies can responsible for producing similar medication. The active ingredients, mechanism of action, elimination of the drug may be similar but because of slight differences in manufacturing technique or inactive ingredients, there may be different side effects.
An antihistamine would help with the allergic reaction but you may want to take the medication back to the pharmacy to let them know about your reaction.
I hope this helps
