What Causes Whistling And Popping Sensation While Blowing Nose?

Think I possible dropped a very small clear rubber back to a earring in my ear last night. Haven t felt much discomfort besides waking up congested and sneezing fits today. I can t see anything in my ear but can t find the back to the earring anywhere on my bed or floor. Blew my nose and hear a whistle sound in my ear. Could it be in my canal? Should I be I m much pain? And what the cause of the whistling and popping sensations when I blow my nose?

Hi,

Welcome to HCM,

I had gone through your question and understand your concerns.

With your history, I opined that, either that foreign bodu( rubber) ruptured your ear drum or due to severe cold or your eusthacian tube( tube connecting ear and nose) got blocked.

evaluate with audiometry, otoscopy by an ent surgeon for definative diagnosis and treatment.

Hope, I have answered your query, all the best, take care.
