What Causes White And Black Spots On Tonsils?
my husband has a C shaped crater on his left tonsil. It has a black spot at the end and a few white spots. Strep throat has been going around my son s school so 2 nights ago he went to the ER. They told him he did NOT have strep because they would know right away due to a distinct smell. At the time he had no white spots or a crater.

Strep throat or not, if there are signs and symptoms of infection, your husband has to be treated,
The black and white spots may be due to infection.
Ask him to see the PCP, who may be more considerate and may go ahead with proper clinical evaluation , examination, investigations and proper treatment.
