i had tonsillitis a month ago and lately my throat has been really painful on one side, today i looked in my mouth and they is a white area (like a spot) at the back of my throat on the right hand side but it is just above my tonsils, do you know what this could be.
As per your complain a white spot on the tonsils with a recent history of throat infection can be a pus pocket or it can also be a tonsil stone that is a calcified mass of food debris..
I would suggest you to consult an Otolaryngologist and get evaluated and in case on pus pocket a short course of antibiotics and warm saline gargles will relieve..
In case of tonsil stones manual removal can be done and they can be further prevented by gargling with warm saline and limiting dairy intake..
Hope this helps..
Regards.
