What Causes White Bumps On The Elbow After Having Sutures?

Hello! I got 8 stitches directly on my elbow last October and since then there has been white bumps along where I got my sturtures out... I read up on it and it says that they are cysts but should go away after a few weeks...it s been over 5 months and they still have not gone away, should I be concerned?

Hi.
As per your case history you are having hypertrophic scar.
My treatment advice is -
1. Don't scratch the lesion as it may worsen the condition.
2. Apply a hexilak gel twice daily on it.
3. Take a vitamin E supplement once daily for 3 months.
4. Other treatment options are intralesional steroid, intralesional fluorouracil given only by a dermatologist.

Thanks.
Dr. Harshit bhachech.
