What Causes White Coating On Tongue?
I recently (for the past 2-3 days) developed a white thick coating on my tongue more near the back of my throat.When I mentioned this to my dentist she prescribed Nystatin.That was really my only symptom until today,my nose has been running slightly.Could this be the start of a cold or flu?

The white coating over the dorsal surface near to the throat can be because of the food debris or it can be secondary to candidal infection. It is not the sign of beginning of cold or flu. Consult a good oral physician and get it evaluated.
