Hi there.
Firstly, any unprotected sex could lead to an STD.
It does not mean that if a person is 'clean' on appearance externally, he/she does not harbour any infection especially in the case of viral infections.
In your particular instance, I strongly suspect
Herpes simplex infection. This is a viral infection & for broad description, one may say there are two types Herpes simplex1 & Herpes Simplextype2; the latter was earlier more linked with sexual transmission but with the advent of rampant oral sex, either/or HSV1 or 2 may be an issue.
I would advice you to do a
blood test (serum Herpes 1& 2 Ig G & IGM); This will tell you if you have the infection at all, what type of virus, recent or old infection & the titre as well. Then your
dermatologist can recommend the appropriate
antiviral treatment. I usually favour the gold standard medicine
Acyclovir in either tablet or local cream form depending on your state of infection et al.'
Good Luck & do feel free to get in touch with us after the tests using our premium portal on HCM. Please do practice safe sex.
