I have a white layer of skin on the top of my tongue. Its uneven with the amount of dead skin in certain places. I know it is for sure dead skin but, I am unsure how to remove it. I used a toothbrush to rub it off which worked next to non. I did not press as hard as I could with the brush but it doesn t seem to want to leave. I also seem to have a loss of taste on my tongue. My questions: 1) Will it come off on its own. 2) Knowing its dead skin if I did try and push with a brush harder will it come off.
Hello. This is thrush--a Candida yeast infection of your tongue. It won't come off with brushing and you need to see a doctor either for Nystatin mouth rinse or oral Diflucan
