What Causes White Lump On Tonsils At Back Of The Throat?
Hi I a 23 year of female and for about 4 months now I have had an uncomfortable feeling in the back of my throat, I shone a torch in and saw a whitish lump thing on my tonsils right at the back of my throat. I forced my self to cough and some came out. Now everyday I get it and I have to literally stick something into my throat and dig it out of this tiny hole. I did it again about 10 mintues ago and dug out quite a lot of it. It comes in little clumps and seems hard but I can squish it and it becomes mushy and it really smells. What is it?
Noted your classical history of a condition called tonsillolith that is formation of firm to hard stone like structure coming out of the crypt of tonsil. This is not a major concern but surely is stressful since you do not know the condition is absolutely benign and not to be worried about.
You may please consult your ENT Surgeon to know the exact diagnosis and get an appropriate treatment if required. If there is any active infection then you may need a course of an antibiotic, anti-inflammatory and supportive medications. Stop worrying at the moment till you consult an ENT.
I hope this answer helps you. Let me know if I can assist you further.
