My 3 year old son is developing white raised hard scabs on his head. He had them last month and the pediatrician said it could be bug bites and gave me fluocidone .01 to alp ply twice per day. The scabs came back this month about 8-10. Could this be some form of dermatitis? Plaque psoriasis? There is no evidence of any insect bites.
Hi. As per your case history your son may be having either scalp psoriasis or seborrehic dermatiitis. Psoriasis is less common in this age-group. My treatment advice is- 1. Avoid hair-oil application for 3 weeks. 2. Never sqeeze the scab with nails or comb 3. Use Candid- b lotion once at night (clotrimazole plus beclomethsone) 4. Use sebowash shampoo (fluocinolone) in morning on alternate days.
