What Causes White Skin Patches Around The Groin Area?
Hi I have been reading on the net about white skin patches around the groin area. It started off red and scaly then brown no its gone like patches of white spots (discolouration). I have been to my docs and she gave me dirakina cream and said it was a fungal infection, but it s not bringing my skin patches back to my own skin colour again? Will it return back to normal? As I cannot wear a bikini on holiday as you can see it coming out on to my leg. It s very upsetting and the doctor described it as moth bites how it s spreading at the sides of my leg from my bikini line. Please help :-(
Hi and welcome to HCM, Itchy groins can really be embarrassing at times! The way your spots started being red and scaly and slowly turning darker, seems to agree with your doctors diagnosis of fungal infection. Unfortunately, in some cases fungal infections take quite some time to heal and more often than not, they heal leaving behind dark colored skin. Usually no treatment is prescribed for the residual pigmentation as it gradually improves over time by itself. Maintaining good personal hygiene and regular washing of underclothes in hot water is advised. Regards
