What Causes White Spots On Left Tonsil?

I have white spots on my left tonsil. I ve had a sore throat for almost 2 weeks pretty much without any other symptoms. The sore throat started on the left, moved to the right and seems to have settled back on the left. It is painful only on the left side....could this be bacterial? I cannot get in to see my GP until Monday.

Hello,

I read carefully your query and understand your concern.

The symptoms seem to be related to a tonsillitis which is an infection of the tonsils.
The white spots are probably related to the presence of the pus.
I suggest using anti inflammatory medications such as Acetaminophen to relieve the inflammation.
I also recommend to gargle with salty water.
If the symptoms continue, I suggest to take a cycle of antibiotics.
