my daughter who has an olive complexion, (she is 50% puerto rican, 25% italian and 25% irish) has small white spots on the upper part of her chest, just below her neck. They are small about the size of 1/2 a centimeter, but noticeable and embarassing to her...She is 11. She has always tanned every summer, I usually use SPF 8 or 15, but these spots are concerning me. Any idea what they are?
pityriasis alba generally occurs in childrens featuring single (sometime multiple) depigmented (white) patch with fine scales,. it is self resolving condition. vitiligo is another diffrential, its patch is totally white. u need to consult dermatologist to differentite this.
