Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Why hello there Doctor, I am 18, 120 lbs, and i dont have any other medical concerns. I was just cuirous as to why my wrist hurts when I am playing guitar, It doesnt hurt when I bent it forward just when I have pressure on my fingers when playing. If you could help me out as to why this is happening that would be great. Thank You
The wrist pain is very common while playing guitar. It is due to static tension and excessive bending of the wrist. I suggest to use cold compresses in case of pain. I also suggest using anti inflammatory medications such as Acetaminophen to relieve the pain. I recommend to let the wrist rest and maintain a splint if it hurts while playing guitar.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
