What Causes Yellow Discharge From Ears When Suffering From Eustachian Tube Dysfunction?

I have been having lots of trouble with Eustachian Tube dysfunction, retracted ear drums, distorted and over amplified sound (despite having a moderately severe hearing loss). I saw an ENT consultant 8 weeks ago and he did a nasal endoscopy and also an otoscope of my ears (while looking in he asked me to Valsalva and I couldn t do my left drum and there was not much movement with my right drum). He told me to douch (neil med sinus rinse) morning and night on my back with my head over the end of the bed and then, in the same position, to put two drops of Betnesol drops in each nostril. I had to do this for 6 weeks. After about 2 or 3 weeks, things got bad and lots of coloured mucus came out and I felt awful. In particular from my left nostril, on one occasion, half a teaspoon full of gelatinous, very bright yellow mucus was in my hanky when I blew my nose after douching. I stopped the Betnesol 2 weeks ago. I am still douching and three days ago, from the left nostril, I got more of this very bright yellow liquid. Unlike last time, it was quite watery. Again today I had it, but it was very watery. Each time it is from my left nostril after I have finished douching. Is this good or bad. My symptoms are no better and in fact my voice sounds awful to me. I feel blocked when I speak. Other people sound okay, but I have distorted and over amplified sounds still and lots of popping. I can t Valsalva in my left ear really, except after douching. What is the yellow liquid?

Hello,
I my opinion you should try an antibiotic course of cephalosporin or penicillin group along with nasal decongestant like sinarest. For five days. take steam inhalation thrice daily. continue valsalva, you will be fine.
I am taking it for sure that your endoscopy did not show any nasal nasoph mass
