What Causes Yellow Discharge From The Eyes Of An Infant?
My 9 month old baby has yellow eye discharge with NO redness. He is not rubbing his eyes, not does it seem to bother him. I cleaned it out with baby shampoo and a wash cloth. Should I be concerned? Will it go away on its own? When he wakes up in the morning he has yellow crust on his lashes. This has been going on the last 2 days

It is an inflammatory lesion. Get it examined by an eye doctor. Don't clean by baby shampoo and clean with the sterile gauge in clean water. Clean lashes with sterile gauge. Apply antibiotic eye drop like ofloxacin six hours now baby will improve. Maintain cleanliness.

I think this is nasolacrimal duct obstruction where the tear duct is blocked. You have to massage from the medial part of the nose till the side of the nose where nose ends with pressure at least fifty times a day and is it still doesn't go away. You should undergo a procedure called lacrimal probing. Consult an ophthalmologist to be sure of this diagnosis meanwhile start message.
