What Causes Yellow Stools While On Clarithromycin?
I've been taking clarithromycin (Biaxin) for the last 10 day's as prescribed to treat a sinus infection. I've stopped taking it about 2 days ago and I noticed that during and even now my stool is pale yellow and I have yellow residue on the toilet paper. Should I be concerned or is this the antibiotic still in my system. How long should this be?

What Causes Yellow Stools While On Clarithromycin?
Hello, Yellow stool is a side effect of the use of Azithromycin. This is because antibiotics can kill large numbers of good bacteria in the intestine. I recommend taking daily probiotics to relieve the symptoms. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Regards, Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
